Reviews Of Favourite Equipment And Gadgets That I actually Use !!
As time has gone by in my “cycling life” I have come across equipment that has been bought through necessity or, because I’m a gadget freak, simply because I thought it was great ! As I’ve found them to be something that enhances my cycling experience it seemed natural, as I had started this YouTube channel , to share my thoughts and enthusiasm about them by making video reviews.
There is a specific playlist on the channel entitled equipment reviews and contains reviews on gadgets, Garmin Head Units, glasses, lights, saddles and the like which I hope will hold some interest for you. Of course it also has a review of my gorgeous Bianchi Infinito bike which is probably more a pathetic word salad about why I fell in love with an inanimate object, but hey, no one’s perfect.
I’ve put a few of the reviews here for you dive straight in and take a look and hope they encourage you to subscribe to the channel to see plenty more at your leisure.
Garmin 1040 Solar Long Term Review
I bought Garmin’s flagship Cycling head Unit 7 months before making this video so had given it enough use to now give you an honest and comprehensive review based on plenty of use. Some gremlins at first as you’ll hear but has it ultimately lived up to it’s rather hefty price tag? There are also links at the end of this video to two others which go into detail about the huge amount of battery life it claims and about the fantastic features available to those of you with power meters
Optilabs Prescription Cycling Glasses
Being fed up with the weaknesses & drawbacks of my current cycling glasses – a specific ride made me realise that photochromic lenses were what I needed. But combining these with my requirement for bifocal prescription lenses meant a long search on the web with that combination very hard to find . Bifocals are essential as opposed to varifocals which were readily available – just an opinion which is explained in the video. Finally I came across Optilabs who saved the day and came up trumps .
Tyre Glider : Best Tyre Removal Tool Ever
I have arthritic hands and dread the thought of a puncture when i’m out on my bike, but I have just discovered Tyre Glider and want to share with you why I feel confident in throwing my tyre levers in the bin and have stopped thinking about punctures with trepidation. The phrase “game changer” gets used too much but in my view and experience, Tyre Glider is exactly that for me.
